Online exam
Students take the exam on snapnplan.ddns.net in Chrome or Edge. There is nothing to install on their side.
Start an exam
Before you start
- Each student needs a laptop or desktop with Chrome or Edge, and an internet connection. Phones and tablets cannot share a screen, so they cannot sit the exam.
- The staff passcode is asked for every time an exam is started, so a student cannot start one from a shared lab PC.
Running the exam
-
Create the exam
Click Start an online exam and enter the passcode. Give the exam a name, set the minutes and type the questions. Leave a blank line between questions and put a * before the right answer.
What is the worst-case time complexity of quicksort? - O(n) - O(n log n) * O(n^2) - O(log n)
-
Read out the code
You get a six-character code and your dashboard. Keep the dashboard open on your screen for the whole exam.
-
Students join
Students go to snapnplan.ddns.net, open Exam mode and type the code, then their name. They click Share screen & begin and choose Entire Screen. Each student's time starts at that moment.
-
Watch the room
Each student appears as a tile that shows clear, warning or flagged. Use Allow lookup for an open-book part, or Pause to stop checking. Click a tile to do this for one student.
-
See the results
When students submit, they see their score and a timeline of what was recorded. Your dashboard shows who has submitted and how many flags each student has.
